Coming to Your Senses
(James 4:1-10)

Read James 4:1-10. Ask the Lord to speak to you through the passage.

Getting Ready

Tell the Lord that you are aware that he is trying to get your attention.

Acknowledge the desire that he has planted in your heart for something more in your life and our church.

Ask the Lord to help you to prepare for what he is planning for your life and our church.

Selfishness

Acknowledge the reality that your unfulfilled personal desires are creating problems in your life.

Tell the Lord that all of your efforts for fulfillment has not brought lasting satisfaction to your life.

Waking Up

Confess that your sin has created a problem in your relationship with the Lord.

Acknowledge the Lord is jealously yearning for a relationship with you. Confess your negligence concerning this.

Ask the Lord to help you to get serious about dealing with the sin in your life as you seek to draw near to him.
